AWARE Fish Identification Course
Want to know what that brightly coloured fish was? Gain hands-on experience in looking for and identifying the fascinating fish you see underwater so next time you know the answer.

The course lasts about 12 hrs and includes aquatic protection, characteristics of local fish families, survey techniques and two training dives.

You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation).
Cavern Diver
Defined as diving within the light zone of a cave, i.e. the area near the cave entrance where natural light is always visible. During this course you will learn to use the equipment and procedures that allow you to explore such areas safely.

Four training dives over at least two days you will cover, navigation and line protocols, planning and organisation techniques, problems and hazards, equipment use - lights, guidelines, reels and redundant breathing systems, air sharing, disorientation, silting, line problems, depth and distant limits and other emergency procedures specific to cavern diving.
Coral Reef Conservation
An AWARE project aimed at divers and non-divers, including snorkelers, about the vital role of coral reefs in the marine environment and how you can help their current state.

Course covers an introduction to the Project AWARE Foundation, the importance of coral reefs to marine ecosystems and coastal areas, coral reef biology, association and competition, status of the world's coral reefs, how participants can help, including responsible diving and snorkeling practices.
Dry Suit Diver
Want to dive when you get home, but not keen on the cold water? Unlike a wetsuit a dry suit seals you off from the outside water. So even in those cold northern European waters you stay warm and toasty.

You will cover don and doff techniques specific to your dry suit, dry suit buoyancy control skills, dry suit maintenance and storage, undergarment options fleece or overall-type garments worn under the dry suit.

You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation) and at least 10 years old.
Hayden won't get into his dry-suit, too hot he reckons. So we will have to wait until winter to get an image. Most of you will still be in a 5mm so please feel free to ridicule him.
Deep Diver
Experience what it’s like to dive beyond 20m and see what others only dream of. It takes additional training and you must be an Adventure Diver (or equivalent from another organization) and 15 years old.

Course includes four open water dives that range from 18-40m (130ft), deep dive planning, organisation, procedures, techniques and hazards. Gain experience with diving deep under the direct, professional supervision of one of our instructors.
Digital Underwater Photographer
Freeze time and share with divers and non-divers alike. Digital has taken the underwater photography world by storm and you too can get in on the action. One of the most adaptable speciality courses it is suitable for divers and snorkellers.

The course covers choosing and using digital cameras and underwater housings, using the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine and Adjust) method, the three primary principles for getting good photos underwater and editing your pictures.

You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation).
Drift Diver
Dive with the flow and experience one of the coolest ways to dive! This introduction to drift diving covers equipment - floats, lines, reels, buoyancy-control, navigation and communication.

In addition you will learn about site selection, an overview of causes and effects of aquatic currents, techniques for staying close to a buddy or group and the problems and hazards of drift diving.

You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation) and be at least 12 years old.
Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox)
Ever had to end a dive because of those decompression limits? Nitrox lets you safely extend your no stop time beyond the no decompression limits for air, meaning more time underwater. Learn how to analyse cylinder contents, plan enriched air dives using tables and dive computers and safely increase your no stop time.

More and more holiday destinations are offering free nitrox fills, so if you are planning on doing repetitive dives during your dive holiday, you too can take advantage. You must be an OWD (or equivalent from another organisation) to take this first step on the technical diving ladder.
Equipment Specialist
Familiarise yourself with the operation and maintenance of your dive equipment. The more you know about how your gear works, the more comfortable you are with it, the more performance you get from it and the better you can care for it. The course reviews the theory, principles and operation of dive equipment, routine recommended maintenance, equipment storage and simple suggestions for equipment configurations.

This is not an equipment repair course, but a foundation you'll want if you're interested in learning equipment repair. You must also be an OWD (or equivalent from another organisation).
National Geographic Diver
As part of the National Geographic Diver Specialty, you join an elite group of divers who are more than underwater tourists, but conservationists. Your chance to think, observe and document like those who dive for science and discovery.

This two dive course covers an exploration project be it a plant life survey or a study of water temperature variation (thermoclines). You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation) and be at least 10 years old.
Peak Performance Buoyancy
Ultimate buoyancy control that enable you to float effortless, drift over coral reefs, hover close to the bottom and examine underwater organisms without touching them. Ascend and descend so that it seems like you only think about it and it happens.

During this two dive course you will learn to how to precisely weight yourself for optimum control, poise and balance. Master streamlining so you move through the water cleanly and efficiently.

You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation) and be at least 10 years old.
Underwater Naturalist
Fascinated with aquatic life? Wonder why that fish always dances under a coral head when you get close? Want to know more about the science of the underwater world? Over two dives the course teaches you about the different major aquatic life groupings and how they interact. Learn about the role of aquatic plants, food chains and predator prey relationships and responsible interactions.

See the aquatic world differently, not as individual fish but individual species with distinct survival strategy in a complex, interactive ecosystem. You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation).
Underwater Navigator
It's great buzzing about a reef or checking out a wreck, but who do you turn to when it's time to go? Underwater navigation can be challenging, learn the tools of the trade, including navigation via natural clues and by compass.

Estimate distance underwater, follow navigation patterns and know where you are while following an arbitrary, irregular course. Over three dives you will cover navigation patterns, natural and compass and dive site relocation. You must be an OWD or Jnr OWD (or equivalent from another organisation).
Wreck Diver
As you descend to the bottom, a dark shape begins to take form and a ship materialises in front of you. Four dives over two days you will learn how to explore the past safely using skills, knowledge and prcoedures learned on this speciality course. Whether sunk intentionally or tragically, a ship, a plane or in some cases even a vehicle, wrecks are a fascination to divers.

You must be an AOWD (or equivalent from another organisation) and be at least 15 years old.
