Black Rock Lemnos Centre

Lemnos is in the northeast of the Aegean and lies between the islands of Lesvos and Samothraki. Still unspoiled by high tourism, Lemnos is a very attractive and authentic island. It is a magical place with superb beaches, numerous archaeological sites and a wonderful, unspoiled landscape. The traditional atmosphere of the island makes it even more appealing.

Myrina, the island’s capital and port, is sometimes known as Kastro for its romantic castle built over the rocky promontory in the midst of the sandy shore. A long main shopping street noodles up from the commercial harbour in the south, lined by houses and shops built in the Thracian style with little gardens.

We are based at Neilsons Portomyrina Palace, situated on a long stretch of sandy beach in the bay of Avalonas that is just a 20 minute stroll to Myrina. The hotel has a great sailing bay and beautifully refurbished rooms that are set in extensive landscaped grounds leading down to the water’s edge where you can witness the magnificent views towards Halkidiki’s Mount Athos.
