The lush, green island of Lesvos, Lesbos, or Mytilini, is like no other Greek island. It is the third largest of the islands in Greece behind Crete and Evia. Virtually unaffected by the mass tourism that has turned other islands into amusement parks, Lesvos is the perfect place to visit for people who want to experience the real Greece. The island boasts stunning beaches, beautiful landscape and a colourful past with historical and religious archaeology. Testament to the island’s volcanic past are a large number of hot therapeutic springs and a petrified forest, with fossilised trees dating back some 15 million years.
The dive centre is located in the village of Skala Eressos which is perhaps one of the most enchanting, coolest and counter-cultural places in the Mediterranean. It offers a relaxing combination of stylish bars and restaurants, traditional tavernas and cafes, which extend out over the sea on bamboo decking and stilts. All with their own individual style and vibrant décor you would believe you were sitting on a Caribbean beach.
